Important: Only the base and the complete 3 level mansion are ferret-ready. The 2nd and 3rd levels by themselves are additions to the base- they do not come with a tray or a top.
The First, Second & Third Story of the Ferret Home are combined to make the 36"w x 20"d x 60"h Ferret Mansion. All three stories are made of 1" x 1", 14 gauge wire. Each story has a 5" wide ramp, leading to the 5" x 5" opening for a spacious 14"w x 20"d x 10"h enclosed balcony.
The ramps, balcony, and floor are made of ½" x 1", 14 gauge wire, and it has a slide out tray underneath the floor on the First Story. All three stories have a main access door that is 15"w x 10"h, and a 10"w x 6"h door that provides access to the enclosed balcony. Another 10"w x 6"h door on the First Story, provides access to the area underneath the balcony. The top is secured to the Third Story with the attached spring & hook latches. The Second Story is attached to the First Story, and the Third Story is attached to the Second Story, with cable ties (included).
There is a 5" wide ramp that can be lowered from the bottom of the Second Story for access from the First Story balcony, as well as from the bottom of the Third Story for access from the Second Story balcony. Either ramp can be latched to the bottom of the Second or Third Story to close off access.
We're a large ferret shelter, and we have a bunch of the 3 level Mansions. They've been going strong for close to 20 years now. The layout is good, and the quality is great!
I love the ferret mansion, we have 16. I breed chinchillas and use these as our breeding cages. We also have a nest box attached that was designed by QC for this particular cage. Our momma chins love it. THANK YOU, Sue Irvin
I have 16 if the double level Ferret Mansion for our chinchilla breeders and I love them. We can close off the bottom when they have babies or to introduce the males & females. You guys made nest boxes as well that attach to the top large door for when they have babies. Quality Cage is the best, thank you for a superior product and for thinking outside the box.
