Would 100% purchase again and have plans to. These are the only cages I can fully count on when I attend shows. Absolutely beautifully made, sturdy and last forever.
This is perfect!! I took my chinchilla for a test drive and this little cage kept my chin safe. I put fleece and a lot of toys in it and he didn’t want to get out !! It’s super safe to use the handle on it as long as you latch it shut. I got it in teal and couldn’t be happier.
The only thing is I wish you made rat varrie cages with smaller bar spacing.
I had to buy hard cloth which is like chicken wire to attach to the cage so that my rats heads wouldn't get stuck in the cage.
Besides that, the cage is great.
I use it to take them to the vet or in case there is an emergency and I have to flee my home with a smaller cage.
Recently used this for the first time to bring my guy to a vet wellness check. Put a piece of fleece inside and he was good on the floor of passenger seat for the 20 minute ride (no heat on!). It was a great fit on the floor where I could eyeball him. Latches hard to squeeze but that is what makes this extremely secure, didn’t have to worry about it accidentally opening or him ingesting anything dangerous since it’s all metal. Handle is comfortable with the plastic piece to protect your hand. Important to have this on hand in case of any emergency transport (god forbid). Was worried about how to get him in there at first but picked up by tail hold and popped him right in.
The cage is a great size to hold my two chinchillas and a little tray for pellets and a small hay holder. They can move around each other so it’s not too small and I love the large size of the opening to put them in. The latch is easy to secure. I wasn’t sure I would actually like the stardust finish but I love it! It looks black in most scenarios which is what I was hoping for, but really glows up when under light.
This is a very nice small animal carrier. Most are made from plastic (or worse, fabric) and simply will not contain a rodent determined to chew its way out, but this carrier is made completely from metal and is actually secure! The flip top is easy to open and close and makes it easy to get my chin in and out of the carrier. It is quite small, so it's definitely only suitable as a short-term travel carrier, but it's a good size for that purpose. Its small size makes it easy to carry and transport, and it's well-ventilated, so it won't trap heat inside the way more enclosed plastic carriers do (very important for chins as they're prone to overheating). I did quite a bit of searching/research before ordering this carrier, and this appears to be the best small animal carrier on the market in terms of security, durability, and overall design. It's pricier than most other options out there, but I think it's worth it to have something that's truly safe and secure.
The cage feels very sturdy and solid! It took a while to arrive, but I’m glad that it’s worth the wait. My chinchilla is going to be so much happier in this for car rides than the little plastic critter containers they sell at pet stores.
Perfect size; strong quality carrier!
I have somewhere around 5 or 6 all metal carriers and the Quality Cages carrier is much more heavy duty and solid than the All Things Bunny transport cage. No comparison whatsoever in terms of durability. Plus it is a great size for safe car rides.
